Further information
Dear Year 7/8 Boys and Parents,

As I hope you will have noticed, this Saturday our fixture reads ‘Reigate Parkrun Team Challenge’. This is an exciting opportunity to continue the growth of each team’s camaraderie as well as serving as an opportunity to develop endurance.

The challenge will be double-pronged, with prizes for the winning team based on each of the descriptors below;

The team that has the greatest percentage of selected students in attendance and running on Saturday morning.
The team that has the lowest aggregate time of their top five finishing runners, according to official Parkrun results.
I hope many of you are aware of Parkrun and have perhaps completed one at Reigate Priory Park previously. Information regarding the event can be found here (https://www.parkrun.org.uk/reigatepriory/). It would be great if all participating students did sign up to then print their own unique barcode, therefore meaning results will have students names attached to a time, rather than ‘UNKNOWN’. It is completely free to register, with no obligations. Please follow this link to register https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/?section=form

Students are advised to meet by the start area / cafe from 08.45 on Saturday, wearing Dunottar Rugby/PE kit. Regarding footwear, I’d advise either cross country spikes, trail running shoes, or an old pair of trainers but still with decent support and grip. The run is 5km, for some this is manageable as a non-stop run, for others, we appreciate they may wish to walk parts of the course. It should be an appropriate challenge for every students with their own specific targets regarding its completion.

We are very much looking forward to this Saturday’s exciting event, where we can showcase Dunottar to the Reigate community. Parents are welcome to join in with the run too!

Hopefully see many if you there on Saturday morning.

Kind regards,

Mr Simon Manning
